"The Life-Changing Magic of Making a Mess"
Hey friends,
Growing up, I often heard the nickname “Messy Jesse.”
Not only because it was a catchy rhyme that was easy for people to think of—but also because I was usually surrounded by some sort of mess. Sometimes that mess was my bedroom, sometimes my desk at school (and later my desk at work), my handwriting, my car, and so on.
No matter how much I tried to organize things and keep them clean, it always ended up becoming something to be embarrassed by.
Turns out, it wasn’t just me. Jessica McCabe (How to ADHD) had the same nickname.
We had a great conversation about the ups and downs of having an all-too-easy nickname rhyme that people used to label us as different, and not in a good way.
Stay curious,

P.S. I’ve been really enjoying recording the ADHD Founders podcast with my friends Marie and Sharon, talking about running businesses with ADHD.
I wanted to share a recent episode we recorded about burnout and grief that people have been enjoying: ADHD Founders: Burnout, Grief, and ADHD
