Reduce the Overwhelm, Lighten the Load

Hey friends,

I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season—I’m just about to wrap up work for the year and am really looking forward to having a bit of time to relax and spend time with my family!

As you head into the new year, I’d like you to imagine that you are carrying a backpack full of all your existing commitments: projects, habits, hobbies, schedules, responsibilities, etc.

If you keep adding to this backpack, the weight will start to become unbearable (if it’s not already) and you’ll struggle to get anything done. Like managing the weight of an overstuffed backpack, it’s crucial to balance out your responsibilities to prevent overwhelm.

Reflect on your current “backpack” of responsibilities as you head into the next year—the new year is a time when people are often adding new exciting ideas, resolutions, etc without considering what’s already sitting in the backpack.

What can you remove to make your journey more manageable and enjoyable?

Stay focused,
Jesse J. Anderson

Plan Your Extra Focus Year Workshop

Last week I hosted the live Plan Your Extra Focus Year workshop and it went great! Over 200 people registered for the event and we spent a couple hours reflecting on 2023 and planning for 2024 as a group.

I know the time didn’t work for everyone, but we recorded the event so anyone with the workbook can fill it out alongside the recording:

Notion template

Also, I’ve converted the PDF workbook into a Notion template so now you can fill it out digitally if that works better for you!

How I Plan My Year video

Also also, I created a video covering the SPARK model!

You can check it out here:

The ADHD urge to…

• buy notebooks to get more organized and never use them.

• buy water bottles to drink more water and never use them.

• buy todo apps to get more done and never use them.
